The demolition of N-Convention in Madhapur has ignited a significant debate across Telugu states and in the media, with the HYDRA department at the center of the controversy. AV Ranganath, the chief of the department, has addressed several concerns related to the demolition of illegal structures, particularly those encroaching on lakes and other public lands. His comments provide clarity amid complaints from various individuals and politicians, especially regarding the Fathima Ovaisi College in Bandlaguda, which is under scrutiny.
Fathima Ovaisi College, owned by Chandryangutta MLA Akbaruddin Ovaisi, has faced criticism and legal challenges for being built illegally. Ovaisi has strongly defended the institution, stating that while he is willing to face any consequences, he is determined to protect the college due to its role in providing free education to many students. In response, Ranganath emphasized that the demolition rules will be enforced impartially, without political bias.
Ranganath stated that the department would issue notices before taking any action, acknowledging the impact that immediate demolition could have on students during the academic year. He assured that if the concerned parties do not relocate the students and address the illegal construction, the department would proceed with further action. Ranganath affirmed that the same rules would apply universally, regardless of political affiliations, ensuring fairness in the enforcement of regulations.
