In Hyderabad, the HYDRAA agency has become a focal point of the Congress government's crackdown on illegal constructions. With strong backing from CM Revanth Reddy, the agency has been rigorously targeting unauthorized buildings throughout the city. Recently, however, HYDRAA’s focus extended to minor establishments and lower-class homes, prompting a backlash and a statement from IPS AV Ranganath. Ranganath announced that the agency would halt the demolition of fully built houses in occupied areas.

Despite concerns that this might signal a slowdown in HYDRAA's operations, CM Revanth Reddy has firmly countered these fears. In a recent statement, Revanth emphasized that the agency’s mission remains steadfast. "HYDRAA was created to tackle illegal constructions in FTL (Floodplain) and buffer zones," Revanth stated. He underscored the adverse effects of such constructions on Hyderabad's lakes and flood management, reaffirming his commitment to demolishing illegal enclosures and restoring natural water bodies.

Revanth’s resolute stance on maintaining the agency's aggressive approach demonstrates his dedication to addressing the city’s water management issues. In alignment with his commitment, HYDRAA has continued its operations, recently demolishing 23 unauthorized constructions in the GHMC area. The Chief Minister’s firm position signals that HYDRAA’s efforts will not wane, despite any setbacks or controversies.
