Government Support for Amaravati Farmers: In a significant move, the Andhra Pradesh government has provided crucial support to farmers in the Amaravati region who donated their land for capital development during the 2014-15 period. The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has deposited funds directly into the accounts of these farmers, ensuring they receive the compensation owed to them.

Extended Rent for Contributing Farmers: In addition to the fund release, the Andhra Pradesh government has extended the annual rent payments to farmers who contributed land for the Amaravati capital project. This extension will last for another five years, providing ongoing financial support to over 28,000 farmers who have contributed approximately 30,000 acres of land since the start of the project in 2014.

Recent Land Acquisitions: To meet the remaining land requirements for Amaravati, which total around 3,000 acres, the CRDA has recently acquired 7.2 acres from farmers in Penumaka. This acquisition is part of the continued efforts to secure the necessary land for the new capital's development and highlights the government's ongoing commitment to the project.

Government’s Farmer-Friendly Policies: Ponguru Narayana, the AP Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, emphasized the government’s dedication to farmer-friendly policies. He noted that the policies offer farmers the flexibility to select their desired plots of land wherever government land is available, reflecting a commitment to accommodating the needs of those who have contributed to the capital development.
