The Telangana Government has secured a landmark partnership with Google to establish India’s first Google Safety Engineering Centre (GSEC) in Hyderabad, making the city the second location in the APAC region to host such a facility, after Tokyo. This state-of-the-art cybersecurity hub will focus on cutting-edge research and AI-driven security solutions, aimed at improving online safety and protecting India’s digital infrastructure. Google’s commitment includes fostering skill development, creating job opportunities, and enhancing the country's cybersecurity capabilities.

Google's presence in Hyderabad, which already hosts its largest employee base outside the U.S. and is building its largest office globally, is further strengthened by this partnership. The Telangana Government’s proactive efforts in securing the GSEC reflect the state’s ambition to be a leader in technology, cybersecurity, and innovation. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy highlighted that Hyderabad, with its strong IT industry presence and top tech companies, is ideally positioned to become a global hub for cybersecurity research and development.

This partnership is expected to contribute significantly to the safety of both businesses and citizens in Telangana. By integrating secure systems like Android TV and Smart TV for rural areas, the initiative aligns with the state’s broader vision for digital transformation. The GSEC’s focus on digital safety, combined with academic collaborations and research, is set to make Hyderabad a leading center for cybersecurity excellence, benefiting both India and the global community.
