A heated exchange between the BJP and Congress unfolded in Parliament following Home Minister Amit Shah's remark that "Ambedkar is the fashion." His comment, made during a debate on the Constitution, sparked outrage from the opposition, leading to protests and physical scuffles at the Parliament's main entrance. The BJP accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of using physical force to block BJP MPs' entry, while Gandhi claimed it was BJP MPs who shoved him and Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge.

Two BJP MPs, Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, were allegedly injured during the incident, with Sarangi claiming that he fell after being pushed by Gandhi. He was taken to the hospital following the altercation. In response, BJP's Kiren Rijiju condemned Gandhi's actions, questioning his right to physically confront MPs and sarcastically referring to Gandhi's Aikido training. Rijiju demanded an apology and hinted at legal action against Gandhi.

Meanwhile, Gandhi refuted the BJP's claims, stating that it was BJP MPs who initiated the physical confrontation by blocking his and Kharge's entry to Parliament. He also downplayed the incident, mentioning that such jostling was common and did not affect him.

The incident unfolded against the backdrop of controversy surrounding Amit Shah’s comments on Dr. BR Ambedkar. Shah's remark about Ambedkar being a "fashion" sparked protests from opposition parties, including Congress and Samajwadi Party, who have demanded Shah's apology and resignation. Despite the backlash, both Shah and Prime Minister Modi defended the statement, accusing the opposition of distorting facts and attacking Ambedkar's legacy.
