- K Vijayanand, Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary, Andhra Pradesh government
Andhra Pradesh is set to welcome its new Chief Secretary, K Vijayanand, who will assume the role on December 31. Vijayanand, an IAS officer from the 1992 batch, will replace Neerabh Kumar Prasad, who is retiring after reaching the age of superannuation.
Neerabh Kumar Prasad had been serving as Chief Secretary since shortly after the Andhra Pradesh elections in June 2024. His retirement has led to the swift appointment of K Vijayanand, a highly respected and experienced IAS officer.
Vijayanand's appointment is seen as significant, especially with his well-established professional relationships, including strong ties with Minister Nara Lokesh. His vast experience and leadership will be pivotal in overseeing the administration of Andhra Pradesh as he takes charge in the coming days.
