The International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to finalize the hybrid model for the 2025 Champions Trophy during a virtual meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Under this model, India and Pakistan will not travel to each other's countries for ICC events. The 2025 Champions Trophy, scheduled from February 19 to March 9, will be played in Dubai, with eight teams divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.

The PCB has agreed to the hybrid model, provided the same arrangement is applied to all ICC events hosted by India and Pakistan. This includes Pakistan not traveling to India for the 2025 Women's ODI World Cup and India traveling to Sri Lanka for the 2026 Men's T20 World Cup match against Pakistan. ICC Chairman Jay Shah is expected to join the virtual meeting, with an official announcement anticipated afterward. As of now, the PCB will not receive compensation for this agreement. India and Pakistan have not played in each other's countries since 2008, although Pakistan visited India for the 2023 ODI World Cup.
