Pakistan and Nepal Win Easily in ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup Play-Offs

Pakistan and Nepal breezed through their respective fourth-place play-off matches in the ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup in Kuala Lumpur on Friday.

Pakistan, with a strong performance from pacer Haniah Ahmer, who took 4 wickets for 20 runs, defeated Samoa by 52 runs. Pakistan posted a total of 136/8 with contributions from Maham Anees (28) and Fatima Khan (25). In reply, Samoa could only manage 84 runs in 18.5 overs. Quratulain Ahsen (2/13) and Fatima Khan (2/19) supported Haniah with crucial wickets.

In the other match, Nepal triumphed over Malaysia by seven wickets in a low-scoring contest. After dismissing Malaysia for just 45 runs, thanks to excellent bowling by skipper Puja Mahato (4/9) and Rachana Chaudhary (3/5), Nepal chased down the target in 11 overs, finishing at 47/3. Mahato also top-scored for Nepal with 23 runs.

With these victories, both Pakistan and Nepal advanced in the tournament. Super Six action is set to begin on Saturday, with teams like the United States, New Zealand, England, and South Africa facing off in the upcoming matches.
