India and China have reached a significant agreement on six points to resolve their long-standing border issues. This agreement was made during a meeting between National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, marking the first Special Representative-level discussions since the 2020 border clashes. Key points of the agreement include maintaining peace at the border, cross-border tourism in Tibet, resuming Kailash Mansarovar Yatra, and boosting Nathu La border trade.

Both nations reaffirmed their commitment to finding a fair, reasonable, and mutually acceptable solution to the boundary issue. The meeting emphasized the importance of peace and tranquility along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and promoted confidence-building measures for sustainable peace. Additionally, cross-border cooperation on rivers and strengthening bilateral ties were also discussed.

The disengagement process, completed in October, saw troops pulled back from key friction points like Demchok and Depsang, creating an opportunity for both countries to rebuild trust. This meeting comes after years of tension, and the two sides are now looking to continue the dialogue and hold the next round of talks in India next year.
