IIT Kanpur has achieved remarkable results in the first phase of campus placements for the 2024-25 batch, with 1,109 job offers made between December 1 and 15. These offers include both campus placements and Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) across various industries.

International job offers have increased significantly, with 28 offers—a 27% rise compared to last year. This surge is attributed to growing student interest in core industries, with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) emerging as the leading recruiter among Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). Over 250 companies participated, including top names like Microsoft, Google, Oracle, Qualcomm, Intel, Meesho, Reliance, Deutsche Bank, ICICI Bank, and FedEx.

Professor Manindra Agrawal, Director of IIT Kanpur, praised the results, emphasizing the role of quality student training in securing such offers. Professor Raju Kumar Gupta, Chairperson of the Students' Placement Office, noted the collective efforts contributing to the success, especially the increase in core industry and international placements. The second phase of placements will begin in mid-January 2025, with high expectations for further growth.

IIT Kanpur's academic structure includes 19 departments, 26 centres, interdisciplinary programmes, and specialised schools across multiple disciplines.
