Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi highlighted the state’s growing potential as a key investment hub during his remarks at a special plenary session with industry leaders on the eve of the ‘Utkarsh Odisha - Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’. Majhi emphasized the Odisha government's commitment to streamlining regulatory processes and fostering economic growth to position the state as a prime destination for both foreign and domestic investors.

The Chief Minister shared that a dedicated team is available to assist investors, ensuring smooth operations and an exceptional investment experience. "Odisha will become the destination for investors, and our mission is to create jobs and equip our workforce with skills necessary for high-quality employment," said Majhi.

The two-day event, held at Janata Maidan from January 28–29, attracted prominent national and international industry leaders, including diplomatic representatives from Australia, the UK, Japan, and Italy. Majhi also outlined Odisha’s vision of becoming an industrial hub by 2036, focusing on building world-class infrastructure that would support companies establishing a strong presence in the state under the 'Samrudh Odisha' initiative.

Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), commended the partnership between CII and the Odisha government. He noted ongoing discussions about sectors such as startups, MSMEs, and large enterprises, alongside initiatives to enhance skills and create model career centers. Odisha’s focus on sectors such as green hydrogen, renewable energy, and the circular economy aligns with its industrial goals, further boosting investor confidence.

Sanjiv Puri, President of CII and Chairman of ITC Limited, praised Odisha’s rapid development, citing its strategic location, connectivity, and abundant natural resources as key factors attracting investment. ITC’s growing presence in the state through investments in food processing and agriculture highlights the potential for sectors like apparel, agro-processing, and renewable energy.

With its strategic focus on infrastructure, skill development, and innovation, Odisha is poised to become a key player in India's industrial landscape.
