Rahul Gandhi's Attack on Arvind Kejriwal
Rahul Gandhi, in his rally at Delhi's Patparganj, strongly criticized Arvind Kejriwal, labeling him as the "architect of the liquor scam." This criticism came amid the ongoing Delhi election campaign, where Gandhi targeted Kejriwal's promises of clean politics and transformation. He also pointed out that Kejriwal had failed to live up to his promises during crucial times, including during the Delhi riots of 2020. Gandhi accused Kejriwal of being absent when Delhi's residents needed him the most. He further highlighted the irony of Kejriwal's claims of honest politics while simultaneously being linked to corruption charges.

Congress and AAP's Tension Over the 'Sheeshmahal' Allegation
Gandhi also took a jab at Kejriwal’s luxurious living situation, referencing the BJP's claims about the cost of renovating the Delhi CM’s official residence, calling it a "sheeshmahal." Gandhi contrasted this with his own experience, mentioning how he was forced to vacate his MP bungalow and return the keys to the BJP. This comparison sparked further tension between Congress and AAP, especially in the context of the larger opposition dynamics ahead of Delhi's upcoming elections. Despite their shared membership in the INDIA opposition alliance, the distrust and disagreements between the two parties have been growing, particularly after failed coalition talks in Haryana and Delhi.

The Growing Rift Ahead of the Delhi Elections
The rift between Congress and AAP has been steadily widening as the Delhi election approaches. The Congress, which had initially hoped to ally with AAP for the upcoming polls, now seems determined to take on Kejriwal and his party head-on. With Congress accusing Kejriwal and AAP leaders of corruption and manipulation, and AAP continuing to challenge BJP’s influence in Delhi, the contest for Delhi's 70 assembly seats has intensified. The BJP, under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, is confident of breaking AAP’s dominance, having won the majority of the seats in the last two elections. As Delhi voters prepare for the February 5 elections, the political battle promises to be a highly contested and crucial one for the future of Kejriwal’s leadership.
