"It's the honor of my life," Tim Walz accepts Democratic vice presidential nomination

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz accepted his party’s nomination for vice president at the Democratic National Convention held in Chicago on Wednesday.

“It is the greatest honor of my life to accept your nomination for vice president of the United States,” Walz stated.

He also expressed his gratitude to Kamala Harris for including him on the ticket and to President Joe Biden for “four years of remarkable and historic leadership.”

A video introducing Walz was narrated by Gwen Walz, the first lady of Minnesota. This video recounted her husband’s journey from his beginnings in Nebraska, through his service in the Army National Guard, and featured images from his military career.

Gwen Walz and their children, who were present at the convention, were visibly moved as they watched the governor take the stage.

In his speech—one of the most significant of his political career—Walz is anticipated to focus on his personal story to better connect with voters.
