The political climate in Andhra Pradesh is hitting the very peak again with the onset of the Kutami government in the state. The YSR Congress outfit has been restricted to a bare minimum 11 seats in this year's election.

In this context, ex CM Jagan Mohan Reddy tweeted about the need to eradicate the EVM system in the country and enforce the paper ballot system to uphold the spirit of the democracy.

Reacting to this tweet from Jagan, Nara Lokesh shared a fiery response and he questioned Jagan about the government-procured furniture that is being used in his private office and also about the Rushikonda palace that costs in upwards of Rs 500 crore.

Let’s face it Jagan, you’re allergic to democracy. You systematically destroyed institutions, systems and practices devoted to protecting people’s rights. You struck down in one stroke what the people of AP built collectively over the years.

When you won in 2019, EVMs worked beautifully. When you lose in 2024, you blame the EVMs. Such hypocrisy. Perhaps you should reflect on your failed tenure and accept that people have rejected you outright.

BTW, when are you returning the furniture? And why did you spend 560Cr of money meant for the poor, to build Rishikonda palace for yourself? The people of Andhra Pradesh want answers.
