YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has received approval from the CBI special court for a planned trip to the UK, scheduled to start on September 3rd. The court granted permission for the three-week visit following a petition filed by Reddy, who is currently facing trial in numerous quid-pro-quo investment cases. These cases allege that investments were made in his firms in exchange for favors during the tenure of his father, late Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, as Chief Minister from 2004 to 2009.

Reddy, who is named as the prime accused in these cases, is presently out on bail. During his tenure as Chief Minister, he had requested exemptions from attending court trials due to his official duties and administrative responsibilities.
