Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the desecration of Tirupati Laddu Prasadam, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has embarked on an 11-day 'Prayachit Deeksha,' a spiritual remedy aimed at atonement for the incident. His recent statements have strongly criticized the former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) board, alleging that they neglected the sentiments of Hindus through what he termed anti-religious acts.

Pawan Kalyan emphasized that his criticism is not directed at Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy personally, but rather at the irregularities committed by the TTD board established under his leadership. He expressed concern over Jagan's silence over these issues in the past five years, questioning why the Chief Minister is defending those associated with the board instead of facilitating a thorough investigation into the matter. “If Jagan is clean with his heart, there is no need for all this drama,” Pawan asserted.

Furthermore, he raised concerns about the unnecessary involvement of the Prime Minister in the controversy, stating that a special investigation team under the state government should suffice for an unbiased inquiry, thus negating the need for a CBI investigation.

Pawan also alleged financial misconduct by the TTD board, claiming misappropriation of funds in the name of the Srivani Trust, including unreasonable ticket pricing and other expenses. He assured that the current government is committed to preserving TTD assets and will soon launch a detailed inquiry into the alleged malpractices of the previous regime.
