Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's investment in security for his official residence in Tadepalli has come under fire due to the staggering cost of ₹12.85 crore for iron fencing. This expenditure, funded by the state exchequer, has drawn scrutiny from political opponents, particularly Nara Lokesh.

Lokesh publicly criticized the spending, sharing the government memo that authorized the allocation from the state treasury. He accused Jagan of misusing public funds for personal security, emphasizing that the money could have been better utilized for housing for the poor. He called for Jagan to account for this lavish expenditure.

In response to the criticism, a YSR Congress Party (YCP) spokesperson addressed the media, arguing that the security measures were necessary. He pointed out that since Chandrababu Naidu is currently the CM, he has the authority to question the Security Reasoning Committee (SRC) about the security arrangements made for Jagan. The spokesperson challenged Naidu to seek clarification from the SRC regarding the need for the fencing, asserting that the protocols were determined by the committee, not Jagan himself.

This controversy highlights the ongoing political tensions in Andhra Pradesh, with the TDP accusing Jagan of wasting public resources while the YCP defends the expenditure as essential for the safety of the Chief Minister.
