The serious comments made by Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan against the lackadaisical attitude of the police and their alleged soft stand towards YSR Congress party activists seem to have stirred up action within the Naidu government. Hours after Kalyan's remarks, the government took strict action against Kadapa superintendent of police Harshavardhan Raju for being lenient towards a YSRCP activist involved in abusive social media postings against political figures.

Raju was shunted to the vacancy reserve and another circle inspector was suspended for their actions concerning the YSRCP activist. Additionally, seven police officials were suspended for providing special treatment to another YSRCP supporter, taking him to a restaurant and sharing a meal with him while he was in judicial remand. The incident, captured on video and shared on social media, led to the swift disciplinary action by Guntur range IG Sarvasreshtha Tripathi.

The Naidu government's actions signal a zero-tolerance policy towards police officials who do not adhere to the law and violate rules. This move comes in response to concerns raised by Pawan Kalyan and reflects a commitment to ensuring accountability and fairness within the police force. The incidents serve as a reminder that all individuals, regardless of their affiliations, must be treated equally under the law.

The suspensions and reassignments within the police department underscore the importance of upholding the principles of justice and impartiality. The Naidu government's proactive stance in addressing lapses in police conduct sets a precedent for accountability and transparency in law enforcement. Moving forward, it is crucial for all officials to uphold the rule of law and maintain the public's trust in the justice system.
