Andhra Pradesh’s IT and Education Minister, Nara Lokesh, has announced an ambitious vision to create a distinctive "Andhra Pradesh model" of education, which he claims will surpass the existing educational frameworks of Delhi and Kerala. His reforms aim to bring revolutionary changes to the state's education system, spanning from KG to PG levels, with a focus on quality and holistic development.

Lokesh emphasized that his approach would break away from traditional practices and the “leader worship” culture in the education sector. To ensure that education is free from political influence, he directed officials to avoid including photos of political leaders, such as Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, in educational materials or programs.

Reflecting on his decision to take on the education ministry, Lokesh acknowledged that many had cautioned him about the complexities and challenges of the role. However, drawing confidence from his MBA from Stanford University, he embraced the challenge with the goal of transforming Andhra Pradesh's education system into a model for the rest of the country.

Lokesh’s commitment to the sector has been met with positive responses, as his focus on quality education and his intention to remove political influence are seen as significant steps toward improving the future prospects of students in the state. His leadership is seen as an indication of his growing vision and commitment, echoing the leadership qualities of his father, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

With a cooperative approach from education officials, Lokesh aims to make Andhra Pradesh a national leader in education, ensuring that the next generation is equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive.
