Students from Gudavalleru Engineering College staged a protest on August 29, claiming that hidden cameras were installed in the ladies’ hostel bathrooms and that videos recorded with these cameras were shared on social media.

In response to the allegations, Superintendent of Police R Gangadhar Rao clarified on Monday that an investigation, including a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report, found no hidden cameras in the hostel. He also stated that police questioned various suspects, including social media influencers and students, but no evidence of video footage being recorded or shared emerged.

Further confirming the findings, Collector DK Balaji stated that no cameras had been found in the hostel, and the public need not panic. He added that the authorities seized electronic devices, including laptops, mobile phones, and a tablet, all of which were sent to FSL for verification. The FSL confirmed that there were no hidden cameras or any videos related to the allegations on the seized devices.
