YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, known for his authoritative and strategic political approach, has faced criticism for his uncompromising decisions, especially in the aftermath of a party incident involving Revanth Reddy, the Telangana CM. Balineni Srinivas Reddy, a former MLA from YCP, recently shed light on an incident that revealed Jagan’s stringent nature.

According to Balineni, when Revanth Reddy was elected as the CM of Telangana, he hosted a party in Delhi, inviting several MPs, including some from YCP, out of respect. However, Jagan Mohan Reddy reportedly held a grudge against those YCP MPs who attended the party. It is said that Jagan took note of each MP who participated and, as a form of retaliation, refused to give MP tickets to any of them for the 2024 elections.

As a result, 17 sitting YCP MPs were denied re-election bids, solely because they had attended Revanth’s party. This decision had devastating consequences for the party, as YCP’s number of MPs dropped significantly, from 22 in 2019 to just 4 in 2024.

Balineni’s comments suggest that Jagan’s reaction to the MPs’ gesture toward Revanth was not just about politics but also a personal vendetta. It raises the question of whether Jagan’s actions were driven by envy toward Revanth Reddy, especially considering Revanth’s victory as Telangana CM and his subsequent rise in stature.

Interestingly, Revanth himself has pointed out that Jagan did not even congratulate him after his victory in 2023, which further fuels speculation about the rivalry between the two leaders.
