ICC Announces Champions Trophy 2025 Schedule with Key Matches for India

After much anticipation, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has finally revealed the schedule for the 2025 Champions Trophy. The prestigious tournament, set to be played in a hybrid format across Pakistan and Dubai, will kick off with a match between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 19, 2025, in Karachi. The tournament will conclude with the final on March 9, 2025, hosted in Lahore, with a backup plan for Dubai if India qualifies for the final.

India's campaign will begin on February 20 against Bangladesh in Dubai. All of India's matches in the tournament will be played in Dubai, including their much-anticipated clash with Pakistan on February 23. The tournament features eight teams, divided into two groups:

  • Group A: Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Bangladesh
  • Group B: South Africa, Australia, Afghanistan, England

The 15-match tournament will be played across three Pakistani cities: Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, each hosting three group-stage games. Lahore will also host the second semi-final and the final, unless India reaches the final, in which case the match will be held in Dubai. Both semi-finals and the final will have a reserve day.

  • 27 February: Pakistan v Bangladesh, Rawalpindi
  • 28 February: Afghanistan v Australia, Lahore
  • 1 March: South Africa v England, Karachi
  • 2 March: New Zealand v India, Dubai
  • 4 March: Semi-final 1, Dubai
  • 5 March: Semi-final 2, Lahore
  • 9 March: Final, Lahore (unless India qualifies, then in Dubai)
  • 10 March: Reserve day
