In a recent press conference, YS Sharmila, the Chief of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), took strong jabs at her brother, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of remaining silent when false rumors were spread about her. She specifically criticized Jagan for his inaction regarding baseless speculations linking her to actor Prabhas, which she has repeatedly denied.

Sharmila, addressing the media, questioned why Jagan did not speak out against the false propaganda. She stated that the rumors had been circulating for years, despite her clear denials. "I have no relationship with Prabhas. I don’t even know who he is," Sharmila asserted, recalling how she had sworn on her children to refute the rumors. She also mentioned that she had previously filed a police complaint about the issue in 2019.

The rumors about a supposed connection between Sharmila and Prabhas have been around for nearly a decade. Actor Prabhas had publicly addressed these speculations back in 2014, denying any relationship with Sharmila, calling the rumors completely baseless and false.

Sharmila also took the opportunity to criticize Jagan’s governance, accusing him of corruption and poor administration over the past five years.
