India has officially announced that it will not be participating in the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan, citing security concerns. This decision has raised controversy, as there were proposals for a hybrid model where India would play their matches in Dubai, but this was rejected by Pakistan. With both the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) standing firm on their positions, the future of the competition remains uncertain.

Legendary Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has issued a stern warning to both the PCB and the International Cricket Council (ICC). Akhtar pointed out that without India, the tournament could lose up to $100 million in sponsorship revenues, a significant financial blow for both the ICC and the host nation. He stressed that it would be far better for the competition if India could travel to Pakistan, even if the results of the matches are uncertain.

In another cricket-related development, India's blind cricket team has been denied permission to travel to Pakistan for the T20 World Cup. The team had been set to cross the Wagah border and compete in the event, scheduled from November 23 to December 3. Although the team received a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Indian Sports Ministry, clearance from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) was not granted due to security concerns. Shailendra Yadav, General Secretary of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI), expressed disappointment over the last-minute decision, stating that earlier communication would have been appreciated. The team had been training in New Delhi for the event and now remains in India.

These developments highlight the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan in the world of cricket, with security concerns continuing to overshadow international competitions.
