Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and national president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has made a strong political comeback in the 2024 elections. With a resounding victory, Naidu not only returned to power in the state but also played a pivotal role in the success of the NDA government at the Centre. Since taking charge, Naidu has emphasized that his governance will mirror the style of his first term in 1995, when he led the united Andhra Pradesh, promising a reform-driven approach focused on state development.

One of the key strategies Naidu has adopted is increasing engagement with the public to ensure effective governance. He has instructed his MLAs and MPs to prioritize regular interactions with the public, addressing their grievances and dedicating time to their constituencies. In addition to this, Naidu himself has been personally handling public complaints at the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).

A major highlight of Naidu's revamped approach is the revival of his iconic ‘Dial Your CM’ initiative, which was first implemented during the 90s and was widely appreciated for fostering direct communication between the CM and the people. Much like Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s successful ‘Mann Ki Baat,’ Naidu's ‘Dial Your CM’ will offer citizens the chance to voice their concerns and provide feedback directly to the Chief Minister. This program is expected to be relaunched around the Sankranti festival in January 2024, with preparations already underway.

Naidu’s decision to revive this initiative comes after significant criticism of the previous government under Jagan Mohan Reddy, particularly regarding its failure to address public grievances. As a result, Naidu's move to reinstate ‘Dial Your CM’ is seen as a proactive step towards restoring public trust and ensuring transparent governance. This also signals that MLAs and MPs will need to remain vigilant about the issues in their constituencies, given the direct involvement of the Chief Minister in addressing public concerns.
