Gujarat opener Urvil Patel has made history by smashing his second T20 century in just six days, achieving the feat in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy against Uttarakhand at the Emerald High School Ground. Patel reached his hundred in just 36 balls, leading Gujarat to an easy eight-wicket win in 13.1 overs. His 115* off 41 balls, which included eight fours and 11 sixes, propelled Gujarat to chase down 183 with 41 balls to spare.

This remarkable feat comes just a week after Patel scored a record-breaking 28-ball century against Tripura, making him the first player in T20 history to score two centuries in fewer than 40 balls. In his previous match, he had scored an unbeaten 113 off 35 balls, including 12 sixes and seven fours. His remarkable strike rate of 322.86 in the 28-ball century is one of the fastest ever in Indian T20 cricket.

Patel's aggressive scoring style has been evident in his performances, including his List A record last year, where he hit the second-fastest hundred in Indian cricket history in just 41 balls against Arunachal Pradesh. Despite his blazing performances, Patel was released by the Gujarat Titans ahead of the IPL 2024 auction and went unsold in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
