The excitement surrounding King, the upcoming movie starring Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Suhana Khan, has only intensified with new updates. Initially, it was reported that the film would be directed by Sujoy Ghosh, the mind behind Kahaani. However, according to a report by Pinkvilla, King will now be helmed by director Siddharth Anand, known for his blockbuster Pathaan.
A source close to the project confirmed that the collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand is a highly anticipated reunion for Hindi cinema. The movie, which is described as an action-packed entertainer, has been in prep work for the last six months. Anand and his team have been scouting global locations and designing high-octane action sequences with renowned international stunt directors.
The source also clarified that while Siddharth Anand will direct King, the story is written by Sujoy Ghosh, alongside Siddharth Anand, Suresh Nair, and Sagar Pandya. Abbas Tyrewala has been brought on board as the dialogue writer.
King promises to be one of the most explosive action films in Indian cinema, with Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand planning to shoot action sequences in multiple exotic global locations. The film is expected to begin shooting in March 2025, with a six to seven-month schedule across various international locations. The release date for the much-awaited film is set for 2026.
