Royal Enfield Classic 500 Desert Storm 2013 (actually made in 2012) $4700 FIRM
This is a collector’s bike I bought that had been stored for 2 years and had a lot of superficial marks on it. It has covered 6300 miles. These are no longer made and are hard to find and this is an original Desert Storm model. I am downsizing my 10 bike collection!
It starts and runs perfectly and is a joy to ride. Watch the video here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gXfnLRHgEs
It has had only a handful of local miles on it since being finished just to keep things healthy. The tires still have the nubs on them!
It has also been updated with a crankshaft balancer that significantly cuts down vibrations. It also has had the kick start and front sprocket oil seals upgraded as these are a common issue causing oil leaks. A new oil level sight glass was also fitted. This bike has zero oil leaks.
I have ~8K in this bike, but it will never sell for that! It was a project that I got carried away on making it perfect. My efforts are your gain!
This is what I did to it.
* Replaced any parts that had signs of rust, mainly nuts and bolts and small chrome parts.
I replaced almost all the body parts. All genuine parts from Royal Enfield and Hitchcocks in the UK (largest Royal Enfield supplier outside India).
*New fenders front and rear
*New rear fender brackets
*New gas tank
*New fuse box container
*New air filter container
*New air filter cover
*New battery holder and battery box cover
*New battery.
*New toolbox cover
*K&N Air filter
*New left hand switch gear
*New front brake caliper, master cylinder, and pads.
*New brake and clutch levers.
*New rear light assembly bodywork
*New neutral switch
*New chain.
*New indicator bulbs in the speedo and warning lights (upgraded bulbs).
*Brand new Bridgestone tires and tubes front and back.
*Denali soundbomb mini horn (trust me why I fit these).
*Oil and filter change.
*Odd bits of trim and others bits I can’t remember.
*New fuel level sensor.
*New fuel pump.
*New steady bracket (this is a bracket between the top of the engine and the frame that tends to snap - heavy duty version fitted).
*New twist grips fitted both sides.
*Starter motor cover (cosmetic but hey ho)
*New oil site glass (where you see the oil level)
*Crankshaft balancer. It is an upgrade that goes inside the r/h engine cover and replaces a basic plate supporting the crankshaft. The balancer has a new bearing and removes huge amounts of the vibration these bikes are known for.
You will not find a more perfect example of this bike, and this one is fully serviced and running perfectly with all the usual niggles fixed and upgraded.
I own several Royal Enfield bikes, and do a lot of work on this brand.
