My name is Will Fulkerson, and I'm a jazz pianist.
I specialize in teaching jazz, music theory, improvisation, technique, and playing by ear. My goal is to free my students from relying on sheet music, and to give them the skills they need to be able to express themselves through music.
I received my Bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies from Florida State University where I studied and performed regularly with the likes of Nick Finzer, Scotty Barnhart, Marcus Roberts and more.
I've been fortunate to have performed at many notable venues including "Jazz at Lincoln Center" in NYC, The Velvet Note, and the Atlanta Jazz Festival. I've also worked as a jazz pianist at Disneyland in California, as an orchestra and jazz band instructor, and as a private lessons teacher in NYC and Atlanta.
Now, I teach via Zoom/FaceTime to people all over the world. No matter where you are, as long as you have internet and a piano, I can help you reach your full musical potential.
My online lessons are convenient and the setup is simple! Due to training my ears since the age of 4, I've developed the ability to know every note you'll play during the lesson just by hearing it. This means that you don't need to provide multiple camera angles or anything inconvenient. (If we're working specifically on technique, then I will need to see your hands/arms, though we can still work with one camera/device)
