In a significant political development ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, Arvind Kejriwal, National Convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), announced that both the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Samajwadi Party (SP) had pledged their support for his party. The former Delhi Chief Minister expressed his gratitude towards West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and SP President Akhilesh Yadav for their backing, recalling their previous support during the 2020 Delhi elections. Kejriwal took to social media to thank the leaders personally, highlighting the strong political ties between the parties. TMC’s Rajya Sabha MP Derek O'Brien also publicly supported Kejriwal and his candidates, reinforcing the alliance's commitment.

However, the announcement was followed by Kejriwal’s criticism of Congress, which had also been a part of the INDIA alliance in the past. Kejriwal responded sharply to Congress leader Ashok Gehlot’s comment, who had dismissed AAP's chances in the upcoming polls. The AAP leader accused Congress of aligning with the BJP in Delhi, making the "cooperation" between the two parties public, after previously being a "secret." He claimed that Congress and BJP were working together against AAP, a statement that resonated with many voters in Delhi, who believed the two parties were not genuinely contesting against each other.

This exchange signals a growing political rift in Delhi, with Kejriwal positioning AAP as the key opposition to both Congress and BJP. The support from TMC and SP could further strengthen AAP’s campaign, especially as the Delhi elections approach. The parties' continued cooperation within the INDIA alliance further complicates the political landscape, with Kejriwal now openly accusing Congress of being aligned with BJP in the fight for Delhi.
