- KTR, Telangana IT Minister, ACB Investigation, KTR Media Interaction
K. T. Rama Rao (KTR), the former IT Minister of Telangana, has been at the center of an ACB investigation regarding allegations in the Formula E car race project. During a lengthy questioning session, KTR was asked over 80 questions about his involvement in the allocation of funds to private companies without seeking the necessary approvals from the Telangana Cabinet or the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). While KTR admitted to approving the funds, he justified his actions as a quick decision, calling it a common practice in such cases.
Despite the intense grilling, the authorities indicated that further investigations may be required, suggesting that KTR might be summoned again. After the session, KTR attempted to speak to the media but was advised against it by the ACB police, which led to a brief altercation with the Deputy Commissioner of Police. The situation later calmed when KTR met with fellow BRS leader Harish Rao, who seemed relieved after the investigation’s conclusion.
As the investigation progresses, KTR is expected to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on January 16 for further questioning, making it a pivotal moment in the ongoing case. The investigation into the Formula E case is expected to have significant political and legal ramifications for KTR and his party, BRS.
