On September 30, a significant development unfolded in the Tirumala Laddu adulteration controversy as the Supreme Court took up the case. The bench adopted a straightforward approach to establish the facts surrounding the incident.

Siddharth Luthra, representing the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), revealed that ghee supplied by AR Dairy from June until July 4 was not sent for analysis to the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). Instead, only the ghee received in tankers on July 6 and July 12 was tested. Luthra reported that all four samples taken from these tankers were found to be adulterated.

The court sought clarification on whether the adulterated ghee had actually been used in the production of the laddus. More details are expected to emerge during the next hearing scheduled for October 3, when the court will review crucial documents, including lab test reports, details from the SIT investigation, and public statements made by Chandrababu Naidu.

Thus far, the Supreme Court has primarily focused on the media statements made by Naidu and the question of whether adulterated ghee was involved in the preparation of the laddus. Future hearings may also explore previous agreements between the TTD and AR Dairy regarding the pricing of ghee, which was reportedly below market value.
