- Chandrababu Naidu, Sand policy, Mining Department
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his displeasure regarding the rising complaints about the implementation of the new sand policy in Andhra Pradesh, particularly concerning the availability of sand and the high transportation charges associated with it. In light of these issues, the Mining Department has made a crucial adjustment to the policy.
Effective immediately, citizens are now permitted to collect free sand from their nearest reaches and fulfillment points using their own bullock carts and tractors. Previously, only those with bullock carts could fill sand at no cost; now, the inclusion of tractors allows for a more efficient means of transport. This change eliminates additional transportation fees that had previously applied to traditional transportation methods.
This new policy aims to significantly reduce the miscellaneous costs associated with the free sand initiative, directly addressing the majority of public grievances. By allowing residents to source sand more conveniently, the government hopes to appease the masses and streamline the process of obtaining this essential resource.
With these adjustments, citizens can now easily procure sand without the hassle of incurring transportation costs, marking a positive step towards enhancing public satisfaction with the new sand policy.
