In a significant move to encourage IT employees in Visakhapatnam, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has launched four new bus services to the Rushikonda IT Hills, allowing employees in the sector to travel free of charge.
The bus services were inaugurated by former minister and Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, along with Visakhapatnam MP Sri Bharat, following a ceremonial puja at the Infosys premises.
Ganta Srinivasa Rao expressed optimism about the growth of the IT sector in Vizag, stating that he hopes more IT firms will establish campuses in the region in the near future.
The new bus routes will operate daily, starting at 8 am from various locations, including Gajuwaka, Kurmannapalem, Pendurthi, and Vizianagaram, with services returning from the IT Park at 5:50 pm. Additionally, two more buses will be introduced from Dwaraka bus station and Gajuwaka.
The financial burden of these services will be covered by the state government, ensuring that IT employees can commute without any costs associated with their travel.
This initiative has been well-received by the IT community, with employees praising the TDP coalition for implementing a service that is expected to enhance their commuting experience and boost productivity.
