Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the United States in February, as confirmed by US President Donald Trump. This will mark the first meeting between the two leaders since Trump’s second-term inauguration on January 20.
According to reports, Trump and Modi recently had a productive phone call, discussing ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and strengthen the US-India strategic partnership. The conversation also included talks on addressing illegal immigration, with Trump expressing confidence that India would "do what is right" regarding the repatriation of illegal immigrants.
Trump’s firm stance on immigration has been a cornerstone of his policies, playing a key role in his return to the White House.
This visit follows PM Modi’s September trip to the US, during which he attended the Quad Leaders' Summit alongside leaders from Australia and Japan. Modi also addressed the United Nations General Assembly in New York during the same visit.
The White House issued a statement underscoring the shared commitment of both nations to deepen ties and advance their strategic partnership. Discussions during the upcoming visit are expected to focus on enhancing Indo-Pacific cooperation, with India hosting the Quad Leaders' Summit later this year.
PM Modi’s visit reflects the growing strength of the US-India relationship, with both nations emphasizing collaboration in key areas for mutual benefit.
