- Bhuma Akhila Priya, Vijaya Dairy, Kurnool politics
In a recent visit to the Vijaya Dairy office in Nandyal, Kurnool district, TDP general secretary and Allagadda MLA Bhuma Akhila Priya made headlines by demanding the removal of former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's portrait from the premises. During her visit, she insisted that the portrait be replaced with that of the current Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, citing a failure to follow protocol following the change in government.
The chairman of Vijaya Dairy was absent during her visit, prompting Akhila Priya to take a seat at his desk. Upon learning of this, the chairman, SV Mohan Reddy, called her to question her actions. Their conversation escalated into a heated argument, with Akhila Priya asserting her right to sit in the chair, whether as a relative or a political figure.
During the exchange, she challenged Reddy's authority to question her, emphasizing that if he was calling her as the chairman of the dairy, he had no right to interrogate her actions. She demanded he submit a formal complaint regarding the incident, highlighting the tensions within the local political landscape.
This incident underscores the ongoing political rivalry in Andhra Pradesh and the significance of protocol in government offices.
