Zeeshan Siddique, the son of the late former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, has publicly called for justice following his father's tragic assassination on October 13. In a heartfelt post on social media platform X, Zeeshan emphasized the importance of not politicizing his father's death, stating, "My father lost his life protecting and saving the lives and homes of poor innocent people."
Baba Siddique, aged 66, was shot outside his Bandra East office by three assailants, resulting in four gunshot wounds. Despite immediate medical attention at Lilavati Hospital, he was pronounced dead. Authorities quickly arrested two shooters, Gurmail Baljit Singh and Dharamraj Kashyap, while a third suspect, Shiv Kumar Gautam, remains at large.
The investigation has revealed that the suspects claimed affiliation with gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, currently incarcerated in Gujarat. A social media post from an associate purportedly took responsibility for the murder, further complicating the case.
As the police pursue additional suspects, including Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar and Shubham Lonkar, Zeeshan Siddique's plea for justice underscores the urgency of the situation amidst growing concerns about organized crime's influence in Maharashtra politics.
