- IAS officers, Andhra Pradesh, GHMC
The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has upheld the Department of Personnel and Training's (DoPT) directive for four IAS officers—Ronald Rose, Vani Prasad, Amrapali Kata, and Karuna Vakati—to transition from their positions in Telangana to the Andhra Pradesh government. Among these officers, Amrapali Kata, currently serving as the Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), is making a significant move back to AP after a short tenure.
In response to her departure, the Telangana government promptly appointed Ilambarithi K., the Commissioner of Transport, to take over as the interim GHMC Commissioner. The administration aims to fill the vacancies left by these officers in a timely manner. Amrapali's exit is particularly noteworthy, raising questions about how the Andhra Pradesh government will utilize her skills and experience in future roles.
