Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in her upcoming film Emergency, has revealed that she invited Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to watch the film. The movie, set during the 1975-77 state of emergency declared by Indira Gandhi, is set for release on January 17.

In a recent interview, Kangana shared that she met Priyanka Gandhi in parliament and personally encouraged her to watch the film. Priyanka, according to Kangana, was gracious and expressed interest in possibly watching it. Kangana emphasized that the film presents a "sensitive and sensible" portrayal of the emergency period and Indira Gandhi, with great attention to dignity and respect.

Kangana mentioned that while much of the material surrounding Indira Gandhi's life focuses on personal relationships and controversies, her portrayal in the film would emphasize her leadership and public contributions. She also noted that despite some controversial events during the emergency, Indira Gandhi was a highly loved and celebrated leader, having served as Prime Minister three times.
