Double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu and World Championships bronze medallist Lakshya Sen will spearhead a 14-member Indian team at the upcoming Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship 2025, set to be held in Qingdao, China, from February 11-16. India clinched a bronze medal at the last edition of the competition in Dubai in 2023, and the team is aiming for an even better performance this year, with the target set on reaching the finals.

The squad, selected based on world rankings and current form, also includes HS Prannoy and Malvika Bansod as the second men's and women's singles players, respectively. Star doubles players Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will also be part of the team. The women’s doubles lineup could feature either Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly or Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Crasto.

In mixed doubles, Tanisha Crasto will partner Dhruv Kapila, with Sathish Kumar K and Adya Variyath forming the second mixed doubles combination.

Badminton Association of India (BAI) secretary general Sanjay Mishra expressed confidence, stating that while India performed well by securing bronze two years ago, the goal this year is to reach the finals and challenge for a medal.
