Anurag Kashyap has proudly announced the short film debut of Vijesh Rajan and Yashoda Parthasarthy, titled The Last Ride. The film, which will premiere at the prestigious Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, marks the first-time filmmaking effort by the duo, who previously worked as motion designers and VFX supervisors on Gangs of Wasseypur.

In a post on Instagram, Anurag expressed his pride in the duo, writing, “Proud to present this dynamic, funny, thrilling short by Vijesh Rajan and Yashoda Parthasarthy, the first-time filmmaking duo.” He further noted their contributions to the VFX team on Gangs of Wasseypur and their work on the title sequence of Raman Raghav 2.0.

The film, The Last Ride, tells the story of a Mumbai ride-share driver named Aman, who is desperately trying to gather dowry money for his sister’s wedding. His night takes an unexpected turn when he picks up a mysterious passenger, a Chudail (demonic witch). This supernatural encounter forces him to confront deeper moral questions and the harsh realities of urban survival.

The short film also features performances from actors Chandan Roy, Aamir Dalvi, Faisal Malik, and Dheer Hira. Kashyap is producing the film alongside Ranjan Singh, Vishesh Agrawal, and Rajan E.P.K.

The Last Ride will have its premiere at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, a significant milestone for the filmmakers and their promising debut.
