The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has postponed the release date for the GATE 2025 admit cards. Initially scheduled for January 2, the admit cards will now be available for download starting January 7, 2025. Registered candidates can access their admit cards by visiting the official GATE 2025 website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in, using their login credentials. The GATE 2025 exam is scheduled for February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, and it will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) mode across various city centers in eight zones. The results of the exam are expected to be announced on March 19, 2025.
GATE 2025 will offer 30 examination papers, with candidates allowed to choose one or two test papers based on permissible combinations. The exam will have a duration of three hours, and the GATE score will be valid for three years. The questions will be in three formats: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions. The evaluation will cover various aspects like Recall, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, and Synthesis.
The exam will feature negative marking for incorrect answers in MCQs. For 1-mark MCQs, 1/3 mark will be deducted for wrong answers, and for 2-mark MCQs, 2/3 mark will be deducted. Candidates who are in their third or higher year of an undergraduate degree program or those who have completed any government-approved degree in fields like Engineering, Technology, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities are eligible to appear for GATE 2025.
