The HSBC Hurun Global Indians List 2024 recognizes 226 Indian-origin leaders who are running 200 of the world’s most valuable companies, collectively worth an astounding $10 trillion. Among the leaders, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, and Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal stand out, with Nadella taking the top spot. This list reflects a growing dominance of Indian-origin leadership in global business, particularly in the software and services sector, which accounts for 73% of the total value. With software giants like Microsoft, Adobe, and Google making up a significant portion of the list, the influence of Indian-origin executives continues to expand.

The diversity in leadership is also evident, with women leaders like Neha Narkhede, Anjali Sud, and Yamini Rangan managing companies valued at $436 billion. The report further notes the rise of young entrepreneurs, with 27-year-old Tanay Tandon being the youngest individual on the list. Furthermore, the list highlights the global mobility of Indian-origin entrepreneurs, with the US being the top destination for NRIs, followed by the UAE and the UK. Notably, San Francisco emerges as the most preferred city, housing 37 of these global business leaders. The list also highlights the high representation of individuals from Tamil Nadu, Punjab, and Maharashtra, reflecting India's diverse regional contributions to global business.
