The newly appointed Home Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Anitha Vangalapudi, addressed a critical issue concerning the AP Police while engaging with senior police officials. During her interaction, she issued a stern warning to those who had previously supported the YCP during their tenure.

Anitha highlighted that some police officers had acted under YCP's directives and engaged in various anti-social activities in the previous administration. She emphasized the severity of these actions and warned these officers of severe consequences if they continued such behavior.

The new Home Minister urged officials still aligned with Jagan to resign from their posts. She made it clear that there is no room for political bias in the police force under her leadership.

“If you still support Jagan, resign from your police duties and join the YCP leadership. During my tenure, there will be no tolerance for political bias. Law and order must be upheld at all times,” Anitha stated.

One of the principal complaints from TDP cadres over the last five years of Jagan's rule has been the misuse of police force to harass TDP leadership. There were allegations that several police officers operated under the command of YCP MLAs and leaders, targeting TDP members.

Anitha has now prioritized addressing this issue, which should offer relief to TDP supporters. Her strong stance aims to restore impartiality and ensure that the police force functions without political interference.
