In a significant political move, Thalapathy Vijay, a major figure in the Tamil film industry, has officially launched the flag and symbol of his newly established party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. The unveiling event showcased a flag featuring a red and yellow color scheme with flower and elephant symbols. This marks a crucial step in Vijay's transition from cinema to politics.

During the event, Vijay expressed his enthusiasm and readiness for the party's upcoming ventures. "I know we all are waiting for our party’s first conference. Preparations are on for it and very soon we will announce it at an official capacity. Prior to that, we have unveiled our party’s flag today. I feel very proud. We will work together for the development of Tamil Nadu," Vijay said. He also confirmed his party’s focus on the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly elections, stating, “Victory is for sure.”

Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam opted to stay out of the 2024 Tamil Nadu parliamentary elections, instead focusing on building a strong foundation for the 2026 assembly elections.
