- Y S Sharmila, Jagan Mohan Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Congress, assembly session
In a scathing criticism of her brother and YSR Congress party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president Y S Sharmila condemned his decision to boycott the upcoming assembly session. Sharmila emphasized the importance of elected members attending the assembly to address the concerns and issues of their constituents. She called on Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party MLAs to either fulfill their responsibilities or resign from their assembly memberships.
Telugu Desam Party spokesman, B Ramgopal Reddy, also denounced the YSRCP for their decision to boycott the assembly session and backtrack on contesting the MLC elections. He questioned the purpose of running a political party if they refuse to participate in elections and legislative sessions. Reddy highlighted Jagan Mohan Reddy's duty as an MLA to represent Pulivendula in the assembly and urged him to step down if he is unwilling to fulfill his obligations.
Reddy further criticized Jagan's absence from the assembly proceedings, labeling it as shameful behavior. He demanded that Jagan resign from his assembly membership to allow someone else to represent the Pulivendula constituency effectively. The criticism from both Y S Sharmila and B Ramgopal Reddy underscores the growing discontent with Jagan Mohan Reddy's decision to boycott the assembly session and raise questions about his commitment to serving the people.
