In a controversial remark made on Wednesday, senior BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri made a sexist comment about Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, a senior leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections. At a rally in the capital, Bidhuri compared Atishi's actions to a deer roaming the streets, saying that she was now "roaming the city like a deer in the forest" when, according to him, she had never previously met the people of Delhi.

Bidhuri's comment, which criticized Atishi for not engaging with the public until election time, comes as Delhi prepares for its Assembly elections on February 5. Atishi, who succeeded Arvind Kejriwal after his forced resignation over a corruption scandal, will contest from the Kalkaji seat.

The AAP has not yet responded to Bidhuri's offensive remarks. However, this isn't the first time that Ramesh Bidhuri has made inappropriate remarks about women. He had previously made crude comments about Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi and targeted Atishi's father in an emotional attack, leading Atishi to break down during a press interaction.

This controversy has added fuel to the ongoing political rivalry between AAP and Congress, who are also competing for Delhi's seats in the upcoming election. Bidhuri's inflammatory comments have sparked debate as the BJP ramps up its campaign, with the party remaining tight-lipped about speculations around his potential candidacy for Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, Congress has named former AAP leader Alka Lamba as its candidate for the elections, continuing the tense rivalry between the two parties.
